What is inside

  • ✓ Typical service intervals: every week, every 5,000 to 10,000 km, every 20,000 km, every 40,000 km and every year
  • ✓ A warning signs table for brakes, engine, steering and suspension, smells and leaks, and tyres
  • ✓ A service log page with room for 17 entries per vehicle: date, odometer, work done, parts used, cost, who did it and when it is next due

How to use it

  1. Print the guide and keep a copy in the workshop or office.
  2. Print a service log page for each vehicle and keep it with the vehicle's papers.
  3. After every service or repair, write the date, odometer reading and work done in the log.
  4. Write when the next service is due, and check the log before each trip planning meeting.

Why it matters

Preventive maintenance costs a fraction of a breakdown. A small repair done on schedule keeps the vehicle earning, while a failure on the road means recovery costs, delayed deliveries and unhappy customers.

Need more than this?

This free download covers the basics. A general schedule cannot know your actual vehicles, mileage and conditions. If you want more, we can help with:

  • ✓ A maintenance plan built around your vehicles and how they are used
  • ✓ On-site servicing at your yard or depot
  • ✓ Maintenance tracking and reminders in Fleet Command Hub

Questions about this download

Are these intervals right for my vehicle?

They are typical intervals for cars and light commercial vehicles. Always follow your vehicle manufacturer's manual first. Heavy loads, rough roads, dust and heat mean you may need to service sooner.

How often should a fleet service its vehicles?

It depends on the vehicle and how it is used. Many fleets change engine oil every 5,000 to 10,000 km and do a full check each year.

Do you offer preventive maintenance plans?

Yes. HopeLynx offers preventive maintenance plans and on-site servicing for fleets. Get in touch to talk about your vehicles.

Can I use the service log for more than one vehicle?

Use one log page per vehicle. Print as many copies as you need.
